Room types – You can request to be assigned to a single room to live alone or a double room to be assigned a roommate. There are other options available such as a triple or apartment, too. Roommates – If you don't have a selected roommate, you can be assigned a roommate.

IU’s many housing options include different room types, amenities, costs, learning communities (see below), and neighborhoods across campus. You’ll apply for housing through IU Housing after you’re admitted to IU.

Housing undergraduate students near the center of campus. Nearby campus buildings include the Student Recreational Sports Center, Student Health Center, and Herman B Wells Library. Most first-year students are assigned to Pierson Hall or Kalbfleisch Hall. Each of our facilities has a slightly different style and layout. Your choice should be based on your comfort level and preferences. Please understand that not all students will be able to get their first choice.

Community and single-occupancy community restrooms are available on residential floors at Collins LLC.
