Archetype: Cory Wong : r/NeuralDSP - Reddit
Jul 5, 2020 · I had been trialing plini. I was enjoying the cleans but wasn't ready to pay full price. I finally downloaded Wong today, naively thinking I'd work my way through each trial before choosing my first neural plugin. Literally 10 minutes in, I was hooked, immediate purchase. I started with s-gear a month ago, tried th-u, and finally found neural.
Cory Wong or Tone King MK II for Clean Sounds? : r/NeuralDSP
Jun 24, 2023 · It’s great. But Wong does have a crystal clear glassy clean that Tone King doesn’t. And the effects are obviously different with the envelope and shimmer reverb. They both have their place and may overlap in some places, but I would say Wong has a pocket Tone King can’t hit and Tone King has a pocket that Wong can hit, but not nearly as well.
Useful post I found going over some of the known amps being
Oct 28, 2021 · My best guess is that the Cory Wong Amp Snob is this Dumble Overdrive Special (it’s not his ODS, the estate sale thing is obviously a bit… I believe Mason of Vertex isn’t the owner, but has had it on loan from the owner for a while). This video was posted not too long before the Cory Wong plug in came out IIRC.
Archetype: Cory Wong vs Tone King - worth owning both?
Aug 26, 2022 · Cory’s second amp is just great for true cleans and Can go into the twin reverb territory with proper IRS (York Audios) so you can skip Rabea’s plug-in. Also the compressor and reverb in the CW plug-in are great.

Apr 17, 2021 · I used the 50% off sale to buy both, and also Fortin Cali, and I think the Plini and Cory Wong make a very powerful combo , and cover 90% of what I need. Cali gives me the other 10% of heavier and marshally tones that sometimes the song demands.
Archetype Cory Wong worth it for a bassist? : r/NeuralDSP - Reddit
Nov 19, 2022 · Parallax is excellent. Cory Wong is more like a bass/guitar hybrid, which there's an amp that's good for both guitar and bass. But mainly it's a guitar amp sim. Also I haven't try clean tones with Parallax, but it should be at least as good. …
Cory Wong vs. Plini for clean sound? : r/NeuralDSP - Reddit
Aug 31, 2020 · I was so mad that Plini never went on flash sale in the last few months until Cory Wong came out, which I scooped up immediately. They're very similar in ability, but Plini sounds modern and Cory Wong sounds vintage. Crunchy Plini sounds a lot more like metal, crunchy CW sounds more like the classic rock that used to be considered metal.
I am loving Tone King : r/NeuralDSP - Reddit
Apr 3, 2022 · The Cory Wong is great and probably you can get more tone variation from it, but Tone King sounds to my ear just more "authentic". In pedal/fx department they have almost identical posibilities. I'm using it mainly for those classic/vintage warm clean and overriden tones. With my Strat it sounds just incredible. For all the rest I have the ...
Thoughts on Archetype: Mateus Asato after trying it out?
Amp 1 and 2 really beat Cory Wong for me, they're really really good and the pedals are all really good (I even tried them with Rabea), the chorus/vibrato is pretty much a CE-1 which is something they didn't have yet, pretty cool.

Mar 4, 2021 · I see you found a coupon. I use the Wong plugin daily, even for professional bass guitar tracking, which surprised me. It’s fantastic. I’ve bought Plini, Nolly, and Gojira the Neural stuff is so good. I rarely touch Amplitube now, even have the latest version, Except for Fender spring reverb sounds.
