Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan, chief minister of Kerala was elected in the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly elections held on 6 April 2021 from Dharmadam constituency in Kannur district with a margin of 50,123 votes.

Pinarayi Vijayan was elected in the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly elections . His previous term as the Chief Minister of Kerala was widely lauded for his unwavering leadership during the crises faced by the state such as the floods of 2018 and 2019, Nipah outbreak, and Covid pandemic.

In the 2016 elections to the legislative assembly, Pinarayi Vijayan won from Dharmadom constituency by defeating Mambaram Divakaran by a margin of 36905 votes and became the 12th Chief Minister of Kerala.
