Linda Maria Ronstadt (born July 15, 1946) is an American singer who has performed and recorded in diverse genres including rock, country, light opera, the Great American Songbook, and Latin music. Ronstadt has earned 11 Grammy Awards , [ 3 ] three American Music Awards , two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award , and an ALMA Award .

Throughout her career, Linda Ronstadt has prized community over competition, collaboration over egocentrism. Some of her most celebrated and popular records were those she made with Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton for their “Trio” albums in 1987 and 1999.

Linda Ronstadt isn’t singing anymore, since she was diagnosed with a neurological disorder in 2019. But she remains musically and culturally active, including an extensive partnership with Los Cenzontles, a Mexican cultural arts academy in the East Bay city of San Pablo.
