May 15, 2020 · This is likely possible with remote rendering in UE4/UE5 (run the XR app on a desktop GPU and stream the images over WiFi to the Hololens 2), but I think it's (very) unlikely to get the HoloLens 2 to display 10-20 million polygons in real time for one primary reason: Memory. The high-poly models need to be stored and loaded from somewhere.

When you have a job related to some HoloLense applications, like you are engineer, doctor or developer and using or building special software for a big company and Hololens helps you to generate money, then yeah, HL2 worth it and nobody interested in HL1.
