Jul 5, 2023 · If you have proper compression, then I'd say to circle back and check the tpi system as well as re-check the spark. I'm assuming when it went into limp mode it was still running properly (it just gave you low throttle), not dying and you didn't have to re-start it a bunch, right?

Nov 29, 2020 · The TPI will not hit like a carbed SX but in the tight you will quickly learn to love toe smooth delivery. I am sure the red spring will wake it up even more. I have read a lot about these TPI bike and have not heard anything about one blowing like this. I had a few issues with my power valve gasket leaking and my base gasket leaking at 35 hrs.

Mar 22, 2021 · Never start a TPI bike without "cold" start knob pulled, never tough the throttle until the motor is at or above 110*f, shut off cold start knob and then go ride it. Starting in cold winter and not letting it get to operating temps will foul a plug in short time.

Apr 24, 2021 · Ground issues were a very common problem on the past-generation 4 stroke bikes (powered by Keihin ECUs), due to bad subframe contact points. These issues should have been resolved in this generation of bike, but corrosion (as reported in the OP) could still potentially cause problems.

The two sensors are interchangeable, and if your machine suddenly starts running ragged and won’t idle, try (and this helps if you have a buddy with a TPI machine) plugging another sensor in place. It should fix it immediately.

Jun 28, 2023 · I have a 23 TE 300 (TPI) with 40 hours on it and John Ross’s tune. It starts easily, idles well, and runs great under low load conditions. But after running for 15 minutes or so under moderate to high load conditions it will develop a intermittent low end bog/sputter.

Apr 9, 2022 · It sounds like you’ve figured out the problem, but I would recommend keeping in mind that that the starter wire can break if he continues to have issues. Also if he hasn’t already done it, get a capacitor for the battery circuit so you can bump start it with a dead battery.
