LaFayette Park is located in the heart of downtown Watkins Glen at the corner of Fourth & Decatur streets. The park hosts "Concerts in the Park" on Tuesday evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm in the months of July and August.

Mayor of Watkins Glen in the 1930s, Charles N. Cole, left the village $2,500 in 1947 to build a new bandstand in Lafayette Park. A stone-faced, open platform was constructed in the middle of the park on the site of where the fountain had been. It is the foundation of today’s bandstand.

Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course.
