At 2,450 meters above sea level, the plain is famous for its heavy winter snowfall, which accumulates in drifts and creates a 500-meter corridor of snow. The “Snow Walls” rise up to 20 meters high, and you can experience them up close from mid-April to mid-June.

The snow wall is not the only attraction. On the way to Murodo, the top of the mountain, you ride on trolley buses, cablecars, one of the world’s longest ropeways, and see sights like Kurobe Dam.
