Tom Welling is probably best known for playing Clark Kent on the hit television series Smallville (2001). He was born Thomas Joseph Welling in Putnam Valley, New York, to Bonnie and Thomas Welling, who is a retired executive for General Motors.

Welling explained his aversion to Clark Kent cameos, before his 2019 Crisis on Infinite Earths appearance, at Fan Expo New Orleans 2025 (via Kelsey Krogman).

Tom Welling played Clark Kent in all ten seasons of The WB/CW TV series Smallville. In addition to acting on the show, he served as a director for multiple episodes and was an Executive Producer for the show’s later seasons.
