Auschwitz survivors have warned of the rising antisemitism and hatred in the modern world as they gathered with world leaders and European royalty on the 80th anniversary of the death camp’s liberatio

M onday, Jan. 27, marks 80 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Ten days prior to the opening of the gates, Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat who saved tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews, was detained. He disappeared and his fate remains unknown.

In all, 56 survivors gathered under a huge tent on Monday set up over a gate and railway tracks at the site of the former camp.
