Russia has offered to make its fifth-generation stealth fighter jet Sukhoi Su-57 in India for the Indian Air Force, a Russian and an Indian official said on Tuesday, as Moscow looks to boost defence ties with New Delhi.

Russia has 76 of these fifth-generation planes. Apart from India, Russia is also eyeing a deal with UAE for the combat jets.

A Russian stealth fighter aircraft arrived in India on Thursday as Moscow readied to offer New Delhi, which is China's geopolitical rival, cooperation on the advanced jet project.
