The National Weather Service issued an updated winter weather advisory at 6:49 a.m. on Thursday in effect until 10 a.m. for Lawrence, Beaver, Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties.

On Tuesday at 9:45 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated winter weather advisory valid for Thursday between midnight and noon for Carbon, Monroe, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton and Bucks counties.

A winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 2:37 p.m. EST valid for Thursday between 5 p.m. EST and 11 p.m. EST for Emmet, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Otsego, Montmorency,

Central Pennsylvania remains under a winter weather advisory Thursday morning as freezing rain continues to fall. The so-called wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain started overnight. Rain is continuing this morning, leaving icy surfaces, closing schools and offices, delaying flights and causing road restrictions.

It's icy outside this morning as freezing rain is falling in southcentral Pennsylvania. The York Airport in York County and the Muir Army Air Field in Lebanon County are reporting freezing rain as well as fog and mist at 6:45 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

A very active weather pattern is in place for South-Central Pennsylvania. There's a chance for snow, sleet and freezing rain this weekend and next week. WGAL's Christine Ferreira breaks it down.
