Nvidia’s new GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards have been officially revealed and they are beastly. The RTX 5090 will cost $2,000 and require a recommended power supply of 1kW, or roughly the equivalent of running a belt sander non-stop.

The new Blackwell architecture holds benefits for gamers as well as generative AI fans. There's just something about a new graphics processor architecture that gets everyone's juices flowing, either to covet it or complain. Or oddly, sometimes both. So happy CES 2025 from Nvidia!

Here they are! Nvidia's RTX 50-series GPUs, based on its 'Blackwell' architecture, are coming soon, with giant performance boosts in tow for gaming and content creation with AI models.

Nvidia revealed its next generation of graphics cards, the GeForce RTX 50-series, at CES this week. There are four new GPUs in the lineup: the Geforce RTX 5090, 5080, 5070, and 5070 Ti.

Nvidia says the RTX 5090 is “2X Faster Than The GeForce RTX 4090;” the RTX 5080 is “Twice As Fast As The GeForce RTX 4080;” the RTX 5070 is “2X Faster Than The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti;” and the RTX 5070 is as fast as the RTX 4090.
