Haimro Alame may not be a familiar name in Houston, but he was certainly no stranger to the other men leading the Chevron Marathon into downtown Houston Sunday.

The cold weather suited the participants, allowing for exciting, record-setting finishes in the Aramco Houston Half Marathon.

On Sunday at the 2025 Houston Marathon, the top American finisher was trail runner Christian Allen from Orem, Utah. Allen, who won the Speedgoat 50K ultra-trail race in 2023, finished seventh overall, with a time of 2:10:32.

Warming buses will be located at five different locations along the 26-mile route Sunday, offering opportunities for runners to warm up. Free gloves also will be distributed during a pre-race event on Friday and Saturday.
