Kaitlyn Conley has been released from prison days after her manslaughter conviction was overturned by a state appellate court.

Kaitlyn Conley's manslaughter conviction for her boss's poisoning death was overturned due to improperly obtained cell phone evidence.

Kaitlyn Conley was tried twice in 2017 for second-degree murder for the July 2015 poisoning death of her employer, Whitesboro chiropractor Mary Yoder.

After about an hour of intense legal wrangling Tuesday afternoon, Kaitlyn Conley is free.

Kaitlyn Conley, 31, was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter for the death of her boss Mary Louise Yoder -- who was also the mother of Conley’s former boyfriend Adam Yoder -- after her second trial in 2017. Her first trial ended in a hung jury and the second jury acquitted her of a murder charge.

She was serving a 23-year prison sentence; now will be freed. Her case attracted national attention and was the subject of TV shows, documentary series

Conley, now age 31, has been fighting her conviction for years, and filed a motion in 2023 to vacate the judgement of conviction due to being denied effective legal representation. A hearing was held in November 2023 during which both of her previous defense attorneys testified.
