HOUSTON — An investigation is underway after police said a man shot a woman to death in a car in west Houston Tuesday night.

According to preliminary findings, two people were in a verbal altercation that turned into a shooting around 3:10 p.m.

The victim was shot after he tried to intervene when he saw a woman assaulted on South Cesar Chavez Boulevard.
