BOSTON -- Parker Ford scored in his NHL debut for the Winnipeg Jets, who pulled away with four straight goals in the third period for a 6-2 win against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Thursday. Ford, an undrafted rookie, grew up rooting for the Bruins as a kid from Wakefield, Rhode Island. He had several family members and friends in attendance.

The Bruins will be making some interesting changes to their lineup for this matchup against Winnipeg. Most notably, star defenseman Charlie McAvoy will return to the Bruins' lineup against Winnipeg, with Mason Lohrei as his partner.

The B’s erased a two-goal deficit early in the third period, only to give up two goals to the Western Conference-Winnipeg Jets in 42 seconds and three in the first 5:56 of the third. The Jets then cruised to a 6-2 victory over the B’s.

The Boston Bruins fell 6-2 to the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night, but everyone who witnessed the game at TD Garden knows that it was the Bruins who beat themselves. “We’re just making mistakes,” Brad Marchand said.
