Microsoft will stop supporting Office apps on Windows 10 this year. Also it really wants you to upgrade to Windows 11. According to a Microsoft blog post, the company will end support for Microsoft 365 apps on Windows 10 on Oct.

As the push toward Windows 11 continues, Microsoft confirms that Windows 10 users will lose support for apps including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Windows 10 isn't the only Microsoft product that is due to lose support this coming October. In a blog post published Wednesday, the software giant said Microsoft 365 apps (aka Office) will no longer be supported in Windows 10 after Oct. 14, 2025. To continue using Microsoft 365 or Office, the company urges users to upgrade to Windows 11.

“Microsoft 365 Apps will no longer be supported after October 14, 2025, on Windows 10 devices,” the company confirmed. “To use Microsoft 365 Applications on your device, you will need to upgrade to Windows 11.”

While Microsoft claims that Windows 11 is safer, sleeker, and future-proof, it has at times proven to be somewhat more unstable, and a recent shift in focus to implementing AI across the board isn't to everyone's taste, especially features like Microsoft Recall.

Microsoft will end support for Microsoft 365 for Windows 10 this October, so you'll need to buy a new Windows 11 PC.
