A 5.0 magnitude earthquake was detected in western Texas Friday night, according to the United States Geological Survey.
5.0 magnitude earthquake strikes western Texas, tremors felt in New Mexico
The quake struck at 10:23 p.m. MT (11:23 p.m. CT) at a depth of approximately 4.1 miles. Its epicenter was located 33 miles northwest of Toyah, Texas, a small town about 160 miles east of El Paso.
