Maine State Police made an arrest following a murder in Norridgewock. Officials with the Somerset County Sheriff's Office responded to a call late Friday night to find one man dead and another with severe head injuries.

A Maine man has been arrested after police say they found a man dead and another man with severe head injuries inside a home in Norridgewock.

A man was arrested on a murder charge hours after the discovery of two stricken people, one dead, at a central Maine home, police said Saturday. The incident was reported about 11:30 p.m. Friday at a Norridgewock home on Walnut Drive,

A 38-year-old Norridgewock man faces murder charges after Somerset County Sheriff’s deputies found one man dead and another man with serious head injuries at a home late Friday night.

The incident occurred Friday night, February 7, when the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home on Walnut Drive in Norridgewock.

Kendall Allen Purnell, 38, of Manchester, was arrested Friday night and charged with murder, according to the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office log. The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office responded to 40 Walnut Drive at 11:33 p.m. for a reported of an assault. Officials provided no other details.

The Waterville Police Department reportedly brought him to their station for questioning. Police say Purnell was later arrested for murder and taken to the Somerset County Jail. The dead man was reportedly taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
