Brave New World brings back one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most underutilized villains after a 16-year absence. Samuel Sterns (Tim Blake Nelson) was last seen in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk when exposure to Bruce Banner’s blood triggered his transformation.

Marvel is playing up the fact that Red Hulk is in Captain America: Brave New World, but here's the thing: the character has always been disappointing.

It makes sense that Marvel Studios, in dire need of a box office win to start off 2025, would turn to one of its tried-and-true franchises — Captain America. The first three films in the series were released during Marvel’s golden era.
