Detroit Lions promote assistant coach to become new defensive coordinator
DETROIT – The Detroit Lions have promoted an assistant coach to become their new defensive coordinator. Linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard is expected to replace Aaron Glenn as the Lions' new DC, according to multiple reports. Sheppard joined the Lions in 2021 and has quickly risen through the defensive coaching ranks for head coach Dan Campbell.
The Lions currently hold the 28th pick in the NFL Draft. While the premier talent may be off the board by the time they pick, there are plenty of options that could suit Detroit's needs.
