The Detroit Lions are adding former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Bruce Gradkowski to their staff as an offensive assistant coach, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

He should help the Lions make up for the loss of assistant QB’s coach J.T. Barrett, who followed former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to the Bears.

The Detroit Lions have filled one of the remaining coaching vacancies that was created by assistant coaches leaving to take promotions with other teams. The Lions are hiring Bruce Gradkowski as an offensive assistant.

ESPN reports Gradkowski informed the Lions he had accepted their offer, filling one of the holes on the coaching staff after a handful of departures.

According to a report from Adam Schefter, the Detroit Lions have hired former NFL quarterback Bruce Gradkowski as an offensive coaching assistant. Gradkowski enjoyed 11 years in the NFL, bouncing around several franchises since entering the league as a sixth-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2006.
