Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's 14-year jail sentence in a land corruption case is the latest in a series of ups and downs for the charismatic cricket star who has been in prison for the last one-and-a-half years.

Khan has been held in custody since August 2023 charged with around 200 cases but his party claim the latest conviction was being used to pressure him into silence.

Imran Khan, a former World Cup-winning cricketer, was removed as prime minister in a no confidence vote in 2022. The 72-year-old has been in prison since August 2023.
