Michigan football recruiting is picking up for the 2026 recruiting cycle, but it's been something of a slow burn rather than a sprint to add members to the class. The Wolverines have just two commitments in the 2026 class at the moment -- three-star cornerback Brody Jennings and three-star wide receiver Jaylen Pile -- but had three before quarterback Brady Hart reclassified to 2025 and flipped to Texas A&M.

After landing three wide receivers in the 2025 recruiting cylce, the Wolverines are looking to make it a priority to land more dynamic pass catchers in 2026. Michigan already has one in four-star Jaylen Pile who's committed to the Wolverines,

Michigan football is making aggressive moves on the recruiting trail, setting its sights on Penn State commit Jerquaden Guilford.

With that in mind, ESPN updated its recruiting rankings (subscription required) finalizing their standings in the 2025 cycle. Of course, with Haywood being a late addition, the Wolverines moved up, finishing as the No. 7 class in 2025. Brown is the type of talent that Michigan needs to keep adding in order to secure a consistently productive pass game, even beyond Underwood and his likely three-year tenure in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines already do have one wide receiver committed in the 2026 class in three-star Jaylen Pile.
