President Donald Trump’s promised crackdown on illegal immigration has begun to take shape in San Diego County, as federal agents launched targeted operations to arrest undocumented immigrants and a wave of military troops got to work reinforcing U.

Trump announced 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada. On Monday he cut deals to postpone the tariffs for at least a month. Business leaders in the cross-border region say the back and forth is disruptive.

As the deadline looms for workers to accept the Trump administration's sweeping separation offer, the more than two million civilian employees by the federal government across the country are weighing whether to take it.
