The X Games are coming to Salt Lake City. The extreme sports league will host its Moto X, BMX and skateboarding events at the Utah State Fairpark this summer. It will take place on June 27-29 with tickets going on sale next month.

Thursday's announcement comes as X Games celebrates its 30th anniversary. It also comes a day after Red Bull announced it would host one of its soapbox derby events in Salt Lake City for the first time in June. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox called that an example of how Utah is quickly becoming a "state of extreme sport."

Crews were working Friday to set up a Western scene and a skijoring course on West Temple, between City Creek Center and Abravanel Hall, ahead of an exhibition Saturday for the Salt Lake Winter Roundup.
