Ahead of his 2025 PGA Tour debut, Rory McIlroy discussed a few big things left on his career agenda, and two of them might surprise you.

Rory McIlroy has declared finally winning an elusive Masters crown as his “main focus” for 2025 as the Northern Irishman sets out three goals he hopes to complete to cap his career. The 35-year-old is now more than a decade into his hunt for a fifth major after joining Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only man to win four of golf’s biggest prizes before turning 25.

Rory McIlroy has three achievements to tick off his bucket list before the end of his career as he revealed his ‘main focus’ for the new season. McIlroy won four times across the PGA Tour and DP World Tour last year but endured another frustrating season when it came to the majors.

Rory McIlroy has suggested that the PGA Tour could scale back the number of tournaments it stages each year in order to combat “fatigue” among golf’s fanbase.

Gary Young, the PGA Tour’s senior vice president of rules and competition, said players and fans have suggested they could help pace-of-play issues.

Rory McIlroy said Tuesday he understands how the golf consumer might be fatigued with all the different forms of the game that now exist and even suggested lessening the number of events on the PGA Tour could help.
