New York Fashion Week is nearing and with it the haute couture and street style that defines one of the hottest events of the fall/winter season.

The earliest precursor to New York Fashion Week was known as “Press Week.” Eleanor Lambert, press director for the New York Dress Institute, created Press Week in 1943. Lambert wanted to drive more public interest toward American designers when editors couldn’t travel to Europe in the midst of World War II.

New York Fashion Week is getting off to an early start tonight with a Marc Jacobs show. He’s presenting a see-now, buy-now spring 2025 collection at the New York Public Library and it’s sure to be pointed.
