NASA's Pandora satellite mission to document at least 20 known planets orbiting distant stars will start from SpaceX at its Starbase launch facility in Cameron County, Texas.
SpaceX to Launch NASA’s Pandora Mission
NASA said Monday the selection of SpaceX is part of the agency’s Venture-Class Acquisition of Dedicated and Rideshare program. The VADR launch services contract looks to enable NASA to issue fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity awards throughout the five-year ordering period. It has a $300 million ceiling value.

The agency announced on Monday afternoon (Feb. 10) that it has picked SpaceX to launch Pandora, a 716-pound (325-kilogram) satellite designed to help scientists better understand how our understanding of exoplanets ' atmospheres are affected by changes in their host stars.
NASA Awards Launch Service Task Order for Pandora Mission
