In October 1998, a twenty-one-year-old student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming.

The Hutchinson Theatre Company, Historic Hutchinson and the Hutchinson Center for the Arts are collaborating to produce the stage production “The Laramie Project.” Auditions will be at 6:30 p.m.

The Laramie Project is an adaptation of the life and death of Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old who was brutally beaten and left tied to a fence in 1998 because of his sexual orientation.
