Jurors in the Michael Madigan corruption trial have returned to Chicago’s federal courthouse for their seventh day of deliberations. They maintained complete silence all day Wednesday, sending no questions or other notes to the judge.

Jurors are scheduled to resume deliberations Friday at the bribery and racketeering trial of Madigan and codefendant Michael McClain. The trial started with jury selection on Oct. 8 at the Everett McKinley Dirksen U.S. Courthouse in Chicago.

Jurors are resuming deliberations in the Michael Madigan trial Tuesday morning, their fifth day of discussions in the landmark trial. Deliberations began Wednesday afternoon and as of Monday evening had lasted more than 21 hours without a verdict.

Madigan, the longest-serving statehouse Speaker in US history, is accused of using his influence to gain more power and wealth for himself and allies.
