It took Roan hardly a week to begin proving him wrong—in more ways than one. Today, Universal Music Group (UMG) announced an extended partnership with the Mental Health Alliance (MHA) to launch a new initiative called the Music Industry Mental Health Fund,

The new fundraising effort was started by Roan and non-profit Backline to "create a safer and more supported industry for artists to thrive."

Chappell Roan isn’t the only one dropping $25,000 to support fellow artists. After former music exec Jeff Rabhan called out Roan in an op-ed for the Hollywood Reporter, Roan fought back and asked Rabhan to go band for band in donations to Backline’s “We Got You” campaign inspired by her Grammys speech advocating for better healthcare for musicians.
