Investigators revealed that the U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter that collided with American Airlines Flight 5342 was flying about 100 feet higher than it should have been, and also stated the helicopter crew was warned about the incoming jet two times.

WASHINGTON — Officials said that all on board the American Airlines flight from Wichita, Kansas, and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter from Fort Belvoir army base were killed when the helicopter collided on Jan. 29.

Officials have said 'all major pieces' of the American Airlines plane and Black Hawk helicopter that collided in Washington, DC, have been recovered and will now be examined
