Husker Nation is welcoming new Nebraska volleyball coach Dani Busboom Kelly on Thursday. The Nebraska native replaces John Cook, who retired last week. Busboom Kelly, the fourth head coach in program history, agreed to a six-year contract with NU.

Nebraska volleyball fans are set to welcome a new era Thursday afternoon as Dani Busboom Kelly is officially introduced as the Huskers’ new head coach.

Nebraska pulled out all the stops. Even Dani Busboom Kelly said "this is crazy" as she took the stage before thousands of fans to live out a "dream."

For the first time as the head coach of Nebraska volleyball, Dani Busboom Kelly joined Sports Nightly for a conversation with Jessica Coody.

Busboom Kelly, 39, was a four-sport standout at Adams Freeman High School in rural Nebraska about 30 miles south of Lincoln. She committed to the Huskers as a sophomore and won a national championship as a setter-turned-libero under Cook in 2006. She was on his bench as an assistant coach for Nebraska’s title run in 2015.
