JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A rare winter storm moving through parts of the First Coast brought wintry precipitation including snowfall for mainly Southeast Georgia. Snow partially collapsed a Waycross building, according to Ware County Emergency Management Agency. The building owners estimate a couple hundred thousand dollars in damage.

The Northeast Florida region remains in the grips of the wild Winter storm which blasted the state Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with snow and freezing rain.

A once-in-a-lifetime winter storm is pounding the southern states with several inches of snow and blizzard conditions.

Across Jacksonville, a bone-chilling rain continues to fall as surface temperatures hover just above freezing at 33-34 degrees. Overnight, temperatures are expected to gradually fall, allowing for the rain to change over to freezing rain and/or sleet, primarily Wednesday morning.
