What I can say is that Normandy and all the beaches and museums are totally over crowded during the summer months......July to end Aug. If you really do not know your history, then take a guided tour. Depending on your native currency - ca be very expensive. Allow enough time to visit. i's say 3 hours if you really want to enjoy.
