We have gone for both 3 and 4 days and for our family we find 3 is better. It's a long day of fun and excitement, but it is tiring. Besides, you catch so many fish, you'll have to buy a new freezer after three days. Book soon so you're not disappointed. Great place and life-time trip.
What are the rooms like? What is in the rooms? Others have mentioned some people might have to stay in town at the Westin. How do you know where you are staying?

It's Alaska, not the Holiday Inn, but we stayed in a great elevated cabin which had a living room w/tv, (not much time to look at it!) and 2 bedrooms, one had a king size bed for me and my hubby, the other had 2 singles for the 2 other guys with whom we fished. They serve appetizers in your cabin before dinner-awesome touch! You can get a "booze stop" and pick up a bottle of wine or some beer or spirits after fishing before going back to the cabin. Nice pain killer for those aching arms as you look at the fabulous scenery and view your photos of the day!
When you say a small group may have to share a room, what do you mean? I'm going with my husband. We are in a room to ourselves. Right?

You and your husband will have your own room and probably your own bathroom. Most lodges have three bedrooms and two baths. The also have free washer and dryer and soap in each lodge. Each room generally has one double and a single or two doubles. They are good sized and very clean and modern. You will be very pleased with t h e comfortable beds. My husband and i, two sons and a grandson had a lodge to preserved. You will be very pleased with the accommodations although you are so busy you don't have much time in the rooms.
$50.00 per person per day fir captains if you are pleased with their work. They will give you guidelines for tipping dining room, room, drivers and fish cleaners.
