Very interesting and FREE when we went on a Tuesday not sure if this is free every day. Excellent information and paintings re the growth of Madrid as a capital city. Not all on Royalty and quite a b… Full review by Jacqui L

Worth a visit. Main art collection is ok for a walk through for non Spanish visitors, but we found a great photo exhibition as we were leaving. Entrance free, modern interior. Full review by RQL

I'm thinking of spending an hour or two at this museum in the morning, and I'm wondering what I can do afterwards that's in the near vicinity (i.e. walking distance)? Prefer something low-key, like shopping, a lookout or a park or another smallish museum or gallery or anything else that's worth seeing for the first time visitor to Mad. I guess my ideal would be an attraction that's close by, to limit time spent moving around, as only have four days in Mad. thanks, Art

There is a subway museum about a 12 minute walk away in Chamberi. It is free. And doesn’t take long. But check the hours. They first have you watch a movie. It’s in Spanish. So …

I speak very little Spanish and thought this museum awesome! not every display is in English, but the majority are.
