Kathryn did an amazing job at creating a set of couture nails that matched my dress! Super talented, personable. Can’t wait for my next manicure.Full review by LisaJ1981XH

This was the perfect place for us to use as a base (staying at The Joseph hotel) for our Columbus vacation. There were lots of restaurants (like Northstar Café, Rooh, The Guild House, The Lox, Jeni'…Full review by Lee A

This is not just a block. Check a map to see what's there. There is a lot to do and plenty of places to have a bite to eat or drink. Full review by Elizabeth E

There is a Red Roof Inn in downtown Columbus just east of the arena district and south of the short north area. It's the nicest Red Roof I've been in, and directly across from the largest Hilton Hotel in Columbus. Easy walking distance to all, and inexpensive. Recommended!

I see it says $175. What’s the $175 for? Surely they aren’t charging a $175 for a walking tour! I’m confused.
A:
where did you see that? there's no charge for being in the Short North! Maybe someone spent a bunch of money on art or a nice dinner? Lol

There are by the hour parking lots and/or there's plenty of parking on the street. I'd start at one end and walk that side of the street to the other end, cross the street and walk back. There is such a variety of shops it really doesn't matter where you start you're sure to find several places to investigate. Vague enough for you. LOL

I am sorry that I am just now getting back to you. Yes, I would suggest seeing the Short North. If you go during the day it will be quieter and may make for a nice stroll. If you go at night it can get a little crazy but it is an urban area so that comes with the territory. German Village, the Short North, the Victorian Village, the Scioto Mile (downtown) and southern Worthington would all be places that would suggest seeing while you're here. If you eat in the Short North try the Pearl.

I have found the area to be active weekdays. Galleries are open during the day with restaurants open later in the evening. Wheelchair access may be challenging. The sidewalks are not updated for that with trees growing and very rough places. Most restaurants will be fine (not all) and some of the older stores and galleries have a step. It is probably doable if you are used to manipulating. I think you will find people friendly and willing to help out. You may want to check websites to see if some of the galleries are closed on Mondays. Have a fun time and hope you really like it - you're coming a long way.
