Well worth the walk up to the castle. A little steep but just take your time and rest along the way. Hard to believe the castle was built in 2 years. It was to be invincible but a later ruler unwise… Full review by coldy

Views are amazing. Great to see Richard the Lion Hearts castle. If you go there go past the first car park and down the road to the second car park basement it's closer, but worth stopping at the fir… Full review by Russell B

I was just curious to see what people are posting about it. We lived in nearby Evreux in the early '60s and used to go to Chateau Gaillard and climb through the ruins. Looks like it's still very popular.
A:
We stopped there as part of a Viking River Cruise on the Seine to Normandy. The view and the ruins are pretty interesting.
